Unit-VI Athletic Association (Bhubaneswar) emerged champions in the 25th Sarat Tripathy Memorial All-Odisha Football Tournament, defeating Odisha Homeguards (Cuttack) 2-0 in the final at Sayed Seminary School ground here today.
Mercurial striker Bhabani Mohanty starred in the triumph, scoring both the goals. He struck in the 23rd and 65th minutes to be adjudged the man of the match. The champion team received the top prize of Rs 15,000, while the runners-up were given Rs 10,000.
Antarjami Naik of Unit-VI bagged the Sk Babu Memorial Trophy and the Samsud Memorial Trophy as the player of the tournament and best forward respectively. Prizes for best mid-fielder, best defender and best goalkeeper were claimed by Rama Naik, Shekh S Alam (both Homeguards) and Saroj Maharana (Unit-VI) respectively.
Kendrapara MP Baijyanata Panda handed over the trophy in the presence of Banki MLA Prabhat Tripathy, Barabati MLA Debashish Samantray, Cuttack Mayor Soumendra Ghose, Odisha Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera, host Chand Club president Syed Mustafiz Ahmed and secretary Avijit Paul. Veteran football player M N Singh was felicitated on the occasion.
The 25th Sarat Tripathy Memorial All-Odisha Football Tournament is being organised by Chand Club at Sayed Seminary ground here since December 26. The tournament was earlier inaugurated by Football Association Odisha secretary Sanjay Behera. Altogether eight teams participated in the tournament.

December 26 (Match No 1): Mangala Club (Sasikanta Rout 20, Bijay Das 50, 70) beat Arunodaya Club 3-0
December 27 (Match No 2): Kishor Club (Manoj Soren 69, Sashikant Sandil 79) beat Azad Hind Club (Rama Murmu 50) 2-1.
December 28: Odisha Homeguards (Mohammad Miraj Khalid Danish 27, Ramesh Nayak 60) beat Independent Club (Sujit Soren 12) 2-1.
December 29 (Match No 4): Unit-VI Athletic Association (Pratap Sethy 7) beat Jay Durga Club (Kanha Das 76) 7-6 in penalty shoot out.
Semifinals:
December 30 (Match No 5): Odisha Homeguards (Purna Chandra Samal 25, 77; Ramesh Nayak 40, Mohammad Miraj Khalid Ahmed 81) beat Mangala Club 4-0.
December 31 (Match No 6): Unit-VI Athletic Association (Bhabani Mohanty 4, Laxman MurmuĀ 59) beat Kishore Club (Sanjit Panna 54) 2-1.
